Sensory Integration
If your child covers their ears at loud noises or seems “always on the go,” you’re not alone and there’s help. Our caring therapists meet your child where they are and celebrate every small victory along the way.
At Allison's Therapy Corner, we create safe spaces where your child can explore sound, movement, touch, and balance and learn how to respond in healthy, organized ways.
What Is Sensory Integration?
Sensory integration is the brain’s ability to organize and respond to information from the senses like touch, sound, movement, and sight. When this process doesn’t happen smoothly, kids may feel overwhelmed or under-stimulated by everyday experiences.
At our Keller / Fort Worth, Alliance, and Grapevine clinics, we help children strengthen how their brains and bodies work together so they can focus better, move with control, and feel more comfortable in their surroundings.

Who It Helps
Every child experiences the world through their senses. But some children struggle to filter or respond to sensory input in typical ways.
Our sensory integration program supports:
We work closely with families across Keller ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, and nearby neighborhoods like Hidden Lakes and Bear Creek Park.
You’re not alone. Sensory challenges are more common than most parents realize, and they’re not a sign that anything is wrong with your child or your parenting. With the right support, kids learn to understand their bodies, handle everyday sensations, and feel more balanced, confident, and in control at home, at school, and everywhere in between.

How It Works at Allison’s Therapy Corner
Sensory integration sessions are built around your child, not a one-size-fits-all program. Every child processes sensory input differently, so every plan starts with a thorough evaluation to understand exactly what your child needs.
Our licensed occupational therapists guide your child through targeted, hands-on activities that help their body and brain work together more smoothly. A session may include:
Swinging or climbing in our sensory gym
Jumping into crash pads or navigating obstacle courses
Practicing focus and control through games
Sensory integration is at the heart of pediatric occupational therapy
Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life: getting dressed, eating, learning, playing, and connecting with others. Sensory integration is a core part of that work, because a child’s ability to take in and organize sensory information shapes how well they can do everything else.
Depending on your child’s needs, sessions may include swinging and climbing to build body awareness, obstacle courses that improve coordination, or calming tools like weighted lap pads and visual timers for children who need help with focus.
Our clinics are bright, comfortable spaces filled with laughter and encouragement. Many families notice positive changes after only a few weeks — better focus, calmer emotions, or more independence during daily routines.
What to Expect
From your first phone call to your child’s first “I did it!” moment, we’ll be right beside you. Here’s what the process looks like step-by-step:
- 1
Free Consultation
We’ll start with a quick phone or in-person chat to learn about your child and your family’s goals. You can ask questions, share your concerns, and see if our therapists feel like the right fit.
- 2
Initial Evaluation
Your child meets with a licensed occupational therapist for a hands-on assessment. We look at fine and gross motor skills, sensory responses, visual coordination, and daily living skills. Parents are part of the process — your insight helps us understand what matters most at home and school.
- 3
Personalized Therapy Plan
After the evaluation, we’ll create a custom plan with clear, measurable goals. Every program is tailored to your child’s age, abilities, and personality — whether that means improving grip strength, building attention, or developing independence in self-care routines.
- 4
Insurance & Scheduling
We’ll verify your insurance benefits, explain coverage, and help set a schedule that works for your family. Before services begin, you’ll receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) outlining your benefits and expected costs. Our team takes care of the paperwork so you can focus on your child’s progress, not logistics.
- 5
Ongoing Therapy
Sessions are 30–60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and attention. Therapy is hands-on and playful—climbing, drawing, swinging, and practicing everyday skills to build confidence and independence in a supportive environment.
Why Families Choose Us
Parents tell us they feel at ease the moment they walk in. Our clinics feel less like medical offices and more like playrooms filled with color, laughter, and care.
We treat every child like family, celebrating each step forward. Many of our therapists are parents too, so we understand the joys and challenges of each developmental stage.
Families from Fort Worth, Keller, Alliance, Grapevine, and surrounding areas trust us for our open communication and personalized care. We’re grateful to grow alongside the children we serve — from toddlers just beginning to explore the world to elementary kids and teens building confidence each day.
